Just Ink
2, 9, 16, 23 October

The classes will give you the skills to create a tonal study and working in grisaille. Artists from Antiquity and engravers use ink techniques before starting to work in colour – it gives dramatic visual effects. Give it a try.
Narratives in Art
20, 27 November, 4, 11 December
10am – 3.30pm

This course takes place over many months and is taught in a tutorial style. It is great for developing a portfolio for entry to art college or towards an exhibition. Can a narrative be displayed in one painting or does it need to be a series? Which contemporary artists work in the narrative and does this strengthen their voice? We will study the works of Giotto, Stanley Spencer and Sidney Nolan as starting points for sessions.

Aimed at complete beginners and using a simple medium to create coloured drawings. You will be guided through drawing techniques, shading and tone using small, but interesting still life assemblages. Learn techniques that will form a solid ground for further art modules within the Certificate programme.
