Deep Cut

29th Tachwedd 2016 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

- Free

Written by Philip Ralph
Directed by Eleanor Shaw

Deep Cut (revised version) is a bold and compelling account of one family’s journey for answers, truth and justice. Originally performed in 2008, this play focuses on the death of 18-year-old Private Cheryl James from Llangollen who was one of four soldiers who died from gunshot wounds at Deep Cut barracks between 1995 and 2002.

Cheryl’s parents have fought for 20 years to get answers from the people responsible for their daughter’s care and have been met with delays, lies and deceit. This play tells their story in their own words using their own verbatim testimony combined with publicly available documents.

This production contains exclusive, brand-new material which brings the story up to date for the very first time. The third year performing Arts students from University Wales Trinity Saint David, alongside their director Eleanor Shaw, are proud to be telling this story now and bringing it to an audience in a fresh production as Deep Cut continues to be an important story of our society and our times.

If you think you know the story of Deep Cut… think again
