SUMMARY:GOOD NEWS FROM THE FUTURE: Which leg are we on?
DESCRIPTION:An exciting collaboration between over-60s physical theatre group Good News From The Future and Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama composition graduate Sam Barnes. Expect an unpredictable\, free-wheeling performance combining all the distinctiveness energies Good News From The Future performers bring and a live soundtrack by Sam. \nThe work of GNFTF celebrates the wisdom of mature selves\, the experience of older bodies and the adventurousness of time-travelled heads. Happy in their own skins and free from any constraints on how they might appear\, their maturity brings a whole new set of delights. And in a fascinating and dramatic collision of bodies of different ages\, the programme at Small World Theatre also includes students from Aberystwyth University\, who have created striking choreographies based on GNFTF’s approaches. \nGood News From The Future includes past members of Brith Gof\, Cardiff Laboratory Theatre\, The Magdalena Project\, Made in Wales\, Man Act and Theatr Iolo. It is convened by Mike Pearson.

SUMMARY:Aerial Sling
DESCRIPTION:Aerial sling is a new and increasingly popular aerial circus discipline that uses a giant loop of aerial silk. It draws from both trapeze and aerial silks vocabulary to create beautiful static poses or dynamic sequences. SUMMARY:Cynefin + Three Legg’d Mare
DESCRIPTION:Welsh Language Music Day with Cynefin debut album launch and Three Legg’d Mare at Small World Theatre. \nCynefin\nThe Cynefin project is the creative vision of Clettwr Valley native Owen Shiers. Fascinated by music and history\, it is a bid to give a voice to his corner of Wales and innovate within wider Welsh culture. Starting out from his home village of Capel Dewi and travelling through the musical landscape of Ceredigion\, Owen has unearthed seasoned songs and stories\, some never before recorded\, and given them new life in the present. Nominated for ‘Best Solo Artist’ at the inaugural 2019 Welsh Folk Awards\, Cynefin gives Owen a platform to ply his fine arranging and guitar skills whilst taking him right back to his roots. \n“So\, so beautiful. Shining new light on Wales’ dusty folk past.” Sam Lee\n“Effortlessly vital and compelling.” From The Margins \nThree Legg’d Mare\nPlay traditional songs and tunes from Wales and beyond. Drawing inspiration from social history and folklore\, their lively\, sensitive interpretations have earned them an exciting reputation. Performing in this event\, they use vocal harmonies and play a variety of instruments to tell tales of madness\, love\, death\, adventure and everyday life. \n“Absolutely brilliant… ancient and modern at exactly the same time.” Frank Hennessy\n“Their harmony singing is compelling.” Living Tradition Magazine \nThanks to Night Out for its support.
