DESCRIPTION:Aerial sling is a new and increasingly popular aerial circus discipline that uses a giant loop of aerial silk. It draws from both trapeze and aerial silks vocabulary to create beautiful static poses or dynamic sequences. Sling is a great entry point for aerial circus as it’s one of the more comfortable pieces of apparatus to start learning how to make shapes in the air! \nOver the course of each half term we will work on developing strength\, core\, technique and vocabulary and learning short sequences. \nBeginners are welcome and no experience necessary. £12 per session booked in advance by the half term \nBooking is essential\, please contact helen@smallworld.org.uk 01239 615 952.

SUMMARY:CANCELLED - Mourning in the Maze: A work-in-progress sharing
DESCRIPTION:Gitanjali Kolanad – Concept/ Choreographer\nPerformers – Brandy Leary and Hans Wolfgramm\nin collaboration with Phillip Zarrilli/ Kaite O’Reilly (The Llanarth Group) \nA performance inspired by stories and characters in the Mahabharata\, exploring the affective terrain of mourning and pathos. The choreography is developed from the rich and evocative movement vocabulary of kalaripayattu—Kerala\, India’s martial art. It is set within an immersive installation environment created to access and bring into performance the subtler modes of sensory awareness available within this tradition\, thereby enhancing an audience’s experience of mourning and pathos. \nWe acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts. \nWe would like to acknowledge funding support from the Ontario Arts Council\, an agency of the Government of Ontario. \nBooking \nSmall World Theatre is actively monitoring the advice from Government and Public Health Wales about the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19). DESCRIPTION:This six-hour\, performative event explores how liminal space is created\, experienced and shared\, using repetitions of a phrase of movement and a 13th century song developed by Lou Laurens. Untitled 13 will use 12 years of layered recordings giving a unique soundscape. Come to observe\, to be present within the space created. Use the space for mediation\, prayer\, contemplation. People who use movement as contemplation or prayer may wish to move rather than sit. We are tentatively continuing as we have done; Lou’s experiment with sound and space continues. There are distortions\, curious new sounds and feedback\, but being in the space and listening fully – to the space and to the self – the strangeness does not shock. \nEntry by donation  \n  \nBooking \nThis event is not cancelled at the moment. DESCRIPTION:Aerial sling is a new and increasingly popular aerial circus discipline that uses a giant loop of aerial silk. It draws from both trapeze and aerial silks vocabulary to create beautiful static poses or dynamic sequences. Sling is a great entry point for aerial circus as it’s one of the more comfortable pieces of apparatus to start learning how to make shapes in the air! \nOver the course of each half term we will work on developing strength\, core\, technique and vocabulary and learning short sequences. \nBeginners are welcome and no experience necessary. £12 per session booked in advance by the half term \nBooking is essential\, please contact helen@smallworld.org.uk 01239 615 952.
